Job Description
Join Oracle's innovative team as a Principal Software Developer focusing on Studio in the Cloud. This role is pivotal in designing, implementing, and operating a new suite of cloud services tailored for the digital media production industry. Key product areas include virtual animation workstation services, digital asset management, high-performance storage, render farm as a service, license management, and production pipeline management services.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Delivery: Own the engineering delivery of an assigned part of the software solution.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other developers, architects, managers, and different Oracle teams to deliver features and launch new cloud services.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and resolve risks and issues that may impact the team’s ability to execute.
- Technical Leadership: Drive engineering efforts and provide direction to other technical members of the team.
- Roadmap Development: Develop a long-term technical roadmap for the solution area.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 6 years of software engineering work experience.
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems, and other computer science fundamentals.
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming in one or more of Java, C#, Golang, C++, or similar OO languages.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
- Good understanding of developing customer-facing microservice-based architectures, tiered architectures, including virtualization, containerization, and REST API interfaces.
Nice-to-have Qualifications
- Experience in building highly available, high-traffic, distributed services.
- Familiarity with public cloud services from major providers (Oracle, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Domain knowledge and experience with workflows and pipelines for media production.
