Job Overview
Zoetis, the world’s leading animal health company, is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Charles City, Iowa. This role is pivotal in managing all phases of capital project management, from conceptual design to project closeout. The Project Engineer will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Oversee the development of conceptual designs, preliminary budgets, and schedules for assigned projects.
- Collaborate with project sponsors to prepare Capital Project Appropriation requests, including project descriptions, justifications, cost estimates, and schedules.
- Manage and coordinate efforts of construction management, general or trade sub-contractors to ensure successful project implementation.
- Ensure frequent communication and conduct regular meetings between the Project Team and stakeholders.
Procurement and Documentation
- Generate requests for proposals for equipment and services as necessary.
- Provide or arrange for the development of complete design documentation for assigned projects.
- Prepare documentation necessary for project approvals and generate change control documentation as required.
Maintenance and Compliance
- Arrange for training of involved maintenance and operating personnel.
- Ensure all applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements are met on assigned projects.
- Maintain technical skills in the latest project management and engineering technology.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- PMP Certification or PE License preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
