OSP Construction Project Engineer

Lumos Fiber is seeking an experienced OSP Construction Project Engineer to manage the construction and installation of an Outside Plant (OSP) network, including poles, aerial, buried, and underground fiber facilities within a specified market area. This role involves direct accountability for overseeing line-crews, splicers, and contract crews, ensuring all OSP construction projects are completed safely, timely, and within CAPEX budget parameters across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage OSP Crews: Oversee the activities of OSP crews to ensure project dates and objectives are met.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure OSP crews follow proper safety guidelines and meet NESC code for aerial construction.
- Procurement and Scheduling: Partner with procurement on material forecast and scheduling.
- Permit Coordination: Coordinate with contractors on all permit needs.
- Relationship Building: Create and maintain relationships with local partners.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of technical experience in OSP Engineering, Construction, or Operations.
- Skills: Strong understanding of OSHA rules, National Electric Safety Code (NESC) requirements, and federal and local regulations. Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in various geographical areas. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Location
This position is primarily field-based, with a requirement to reside within a maximum of four (4) hours commutable distance from Winston-Salem, NC, near Forsyth and Randolph County.
