Statista is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Rust to join our dynamic team in Hamburg, Germany. As a key member of our newly formed API team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing API services that are integral to our platform.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and Implement API Services: Develop API services for Statista, such as search services and payment functionalities, ensuring they are user-friendly and efficient.
• Write High-Quality Code: Utilize your expertise in Rust and TypeScript to write idiomatic code in AWS Lambda, creating new features and enhancing existing ones.
• Infrastructure as Code: Use AWS CDK in TypeScript to manage infrastructure, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Testing and CI/CD: Write tests and contribute to the automation of our CI/CD pipeline, ensuring robust and reliable software delivery.
• Collaborate with Partners: Work with developers from our strategic partners to integrate our APIs into their systems seamlessly.
• Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with product management, machine learning engineers, and other disciplines to advance our API products.
• Mentorship and Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends, learn from talented colleagues, and mentor others to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Your Profile

• Experience: At least 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong background in implementing scalable software and APIs using Rust, Go, NodeJS, or TypeScript.
• AWS Expertise: Proficient in Amazon Web Services, especially Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and OpenSearch.
• SaaS Experience: Previous experience in a SaaS company or a company where APIs are a core part of the business is highly desirable.
• Test-Driven Development: A strong advocate for test-driven development, striving for testable, predictable, and simple code.
• Tools and Technologies: Experience with Docker, Git, Postman, and KeyValue Databases like DynamoDB.
• Language Skills: Proficient in English, with excellent communication skills.
• Cultural Fit: A positive mindset, social skills to work in an international setup, and a desire to learn from customer feedback.
