Join Checkr as a Senior Backend Software Engineer

Checkr is seeking a skilled Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our Monetization team. This role is pivotal in enhancing Checkr’s scalability, flexibility, and speed to market for products by developing and promoting foundational pricing and billing components. You will be instrumental in building and improving systems that automate the entire quote-to-cash lifecycle, supporting Checkr’s current and future automated monetization processes.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development: Own the development of features from ideation through to release, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Collaboration: Partner closely with other Engineering and Product teams to architect new platform capabilities.
Code Quality: Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve our products, ensuring they are performant, reliable, scalable, and secure.
Issue Resolution: Monitor, investigate, triage, and resolve production issues for services owned by the team.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers within the team and across the organization.

What We’re Looking For

Experience: 5+ years of backend software development experience.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Ruby (preferred), Python, or Golang. Strong domain modeling, object design, and system architecture skills.
Fundamentals: Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including relational databases, data structures, algorithms, Object Relational Mapping, REST APIs, and microservices.
Ownership: A strong sense of ownership across all aspects of the development lifecycle.
Collaboration: Desire to collaborate and share knowledge with peers.
Learning: An eagerness to learn, improve, and innovate.

Work Environment

Checkr believes in a hybrid work environment that strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and encourages connection. Our hub locations are Denver, CO, San Francisco, CA, and Santiago, Chile. Employees are expected to work from the office 2 to 3 days a week, with in-office perks provided.

Salary

The base salary range for this role is $148,637 to $174,867 in Denver, CO.
