Senior DevOps Engineer

Job Overview

Ocean Infinity is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our innovative team in Porto, Portugal. This role is ideal for someone passionate about designing and optimizing scalable systems, experienced in cloud technologies, and committed to driving innovation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Platform Engineering processes, tools, and infrastructure that support the entire software development lifecycle.
• Ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of our software systems by applying best practices of monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident management.
• Automate and optimize the deployment, configuration, scaling, and recovery of software applications and services using cloud platforms and container technologies.
• Develop and test code and scripts to enhance the functionality and security of our software systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues and incidents and provide root cause analysis and recommendations for improvement.
• Research and evaluate new technologies and trends in the Platform Engineering domain and propose innovative solutions to improve our software delivery process.
• Work closely with development and QA teams to support new features and services.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps/Platform Engineer, or similar role (SRE, etc.).
• Proficient in one or more programming languages, such as C#, Python, and Go.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, and their services and features.
• Expert knowledge of container technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes, and their orchestration and management tools.
• Experience with Linux operating systems and networking concepts, and their administration and optimization.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or Datadog, and their configuration and usage.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to take ownership and engagement in the work.
• Ability to work as a trusted advisor with senior stakeholders.
• Critical thinking and ability to show initiative.
• Open and receptive to new and different ideas.
