About the Role
Join our team at Nova, where we are looking to hire a Senior DevOps Engineer with a specialization in AWS. This role is crucial for our mission to reinvent sustainability through software solutions accessible to SMEs. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems for seamless deployment, scaling, and monitoring of applications on the AWS cloud platform.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design and manage infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform. Version control IaC templates for reproducibility.
- CI/CD and Testing: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI) for rapid and reliable application releases. Establish and manage a robust testing environment, including automated testing processes.
- Containers and Orchestration: Proficient in Docker for containerization. Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- AWS Services and Databases: In-depth knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.). Administer databases, implement backup and recovery strategies.
- Monitoring and Logging: Set up monitoring solutions using AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana. Implement logging solutions for effective troubleshooting.
- Security and Networking: Enforce security best practices for infrastructure and databases. Configure and manage AWS networking components.
- Scripting and Automation: Proficient in scripting (Python, Bash) for automation tasks. Develop custom scripts for database management and automation.
- Operating Systems: Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems. Proficiency in Bash scripting for system administration.
- Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with teams to understand requirements and provide DevOps support. Maintain clear documentation for configurations and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent.
- Proven experience in AWS-focused DevOps roles.
- Demonstrated 2-5 years of experience in DevOps roles.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins.
- Experience in container management with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Advanced skills in scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Experience in Linux operating system administration.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
