Role Overview
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Rabobank, you will be part of Team Godzilla, the functional owner of eventing solutions within the bank. This team is dedicated to consulting and assisting internal teams in designing and implementing event-driven architecture and stream processing solutions. Currently, the team provides a self-service, Kafka-based Event Streaming platform (SaaS) where users can integrate their applications and/or build data pipelines. Your role will involve helping internal teams connect their applications to a Kafka cluster and addressing any issues that arise. Additionally, you will work with new event streaming patterns/technologies and help implement platform governance processes.
Responsibilities
- Supporting users to integrate with our Event Streaming platform
- Developing and delivering tools and automation solutions (including setting up and maintaining CI/CD Azure pipelines and building Azure DevOps extensions) to improve user experiences of the platform
- Ensuring a robust, future-proof Event Streaming landscape
- Engaging in the community as an Event-driven Advocate
- Rotational 24/7 standby support
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent experience
- Experience in Scrum/Agile environments
- Proficiency in Java, TypeScript, and/or Python
- Experience with cloud technologies
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure Pipelines
- Strong ownership, proactive attitude, critical thinking, and willingness to speak up
- Curiosity to explore and improve existing processes through automation
- Openness to learning new technologies and tools
- Effective communication skills for community engagement
- Proficiency in English (B1 level); Dutch not required
Additional Qualifications (Not Required, But a Plus)
- Experience with Azure products and services
- Experience in event-driven and stream processing or big data solutions (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, AWS Kinesis)
- Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Junit, Jest, pytest)
- Familiarity with OpenAPI or AsyncAPI Specifications
- Experience in IT Service Management processes
