Role Overview

The Platform Engineering team at Interactive Brokers is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer - Design. This role is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and offers a hybrid work arrangement. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining, designing, and developing plans for installation/reconfiguration, and overall management of systems to ensure they are reliable, resilient, and secure.

Responsibilities

Design automated solutions leveraging cutting-edge tools focused on infrastructure and containerization.
Provide direct support to both technical and non-technical stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.
Implement and utilize asset inventory, configuration management database, capacity management, performance management, resource optimization, and security measures.
Drive standardized solutions across Interactive Brokers for all hardware, software, configurations, and processes.
Implement tools and processes for efficient operational management including change management, monitoring, alerting, and incident handling.
Provide after-hours or weekend support when necessary for upgrades and maintenance.
Participate in defining and executing a roadmap of projects to continuously improve technology and processes.

Required Skills

Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Ansible, Python, Ruby, Bash, and Perl.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins and GitLab.
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
Strong knowledge in containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Extensive experience in Linux/Unix system administration.
Understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS.
Proficiency in monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios and logging tools like Splunk, Elasticsearch.
