Overview
Scopely is seeking a Senior Server Engineer to join our team in Barcelona, Spain, to work on a new and ambitious multiplayer strategy game. This role is ideal for someone passionate about creating robust server architectures and enjoys working in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python on AWS.
- Implement new features and collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Analyze server performance and propose improvements to enhance player experience and security.
- Work closely with the QA team to ensure high-quality code and efficient deployment.
What We’re Looking For
- Extensive experience in server engineering, particularly with Python and AWS.
- Proficiency in designing scalable and secure systems.
- Strong understanding of Linux, Docker, and database systems like MySQL.
- Familiarity with web frameworks such as Flask, Tornado, or FastAPI.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure and cloud networking concepts.
Bonus Points
- Experience with messaging systems like RabbitMQ and AWS services such as EC2, RDS, and S3.
- Understanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and tools like Terraform.
