About the Role
Algolia is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Fleet team. This team is dedicated to ensuring that our search products are always available, optimizing their availability and cost at scale. As a senior member, you will have a direct impact on Algolia’s Search Products, playing a pivotal role in architecting and implementing systems that enhance reliability, scalability, and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a migration tooling orchestrator to enhance product scalability, reliability, and cost.
- Manage and improve our custom network tooling, including Edge Load balancer and DNS manager.
- Develop and maintain a backup/restore system to meet our SLAs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions from conception to adoption.
- Mentor and lead team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong knowledge of at least one programming language such as Python, Golang, or Ruby. Familiarity with Lua is a plus.
- Experience in building and operating distributed systems at scale.
- Proficiency in designing and building APIs.
- Experience with public cloud providers like GCP, AWS, or Microsoft Azure, and Kubernetes.
- Strong Linux system administration skills, including network systems and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
