As a Senior AI Platform Engineer at Vanta, you will play a crucial role in shaping Vanta’s AI offerings, improving our AI systems, and setting technical strategy for our end-to-end ML/AI architecture. You’ll form the core AI team around which many AI applications will be built and shipped.

As a Senior AI Platform Engineer at Vanta, you will be working alongside a multidisciplinary group of product engineers, PMs, and security and compliance experts to implement, scale, and maintain ML pipelines to enable and accelerate AI innovations. In this role, you’ll build solid infrastructure foundations and high-leveraged developer tools that enable Vanta’s product engineers to quickly create and improve high-quality AI products.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with our users, primarily other engineers at Vanta, to understand their pain points in AI development and identify opportunities for improvements.
• Design, build, and improve AI infrastructure and tooling, such as offline and online evaluation and data pipeline for model training.
• Design, build, and improve unified AI services such as search.
• Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation.
• Set an example for effective, collaborative engineering culture, and help mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of industry experience as a software engineer.
• Experience building ML systems from the ground up, shipping ML solutions to production, and owning the full ML development lifecycle.
• Experience with improving developer experience & resolving ML infrastructure challenges related to scale, reliability, and performance.
• Experience working at rapidly scaling startups and large companies, especially with environments that prioritize a bias for action.
• Strong coding and software engineering skills.
• You are a culture carrier and take initiatives to work closely with product engineers and meet them where they are.

Salary

To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. We set standard base pay ranges for all roles based on function, level, and country location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. We hire for this position at multiple levels internally and the base pay range for this position for US-based candidates is $163,000 - $223,000 USD.
