About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Payments team at Discord, you will be pivotal in designing and implementing payment solutions that support the growth and monetization of our platform. This role involves working closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop seamless payment experiences for our users.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the payment systems that are crucial for the monetization of Discord's services.
- Integrate with third-party payment gateways like Stripe and Adyen, enhancing our platform's capabilities.
- Collaborate with multiple teams including Product, Finance, and Customer Success to refine payment processes and workflows.
- Lead projects from conception to launch, ensuring they meet business objectives and are delivered on time.
- Optimize the payment checkout funnel to improve user experience and increase conversion rates.
- Work on expanding payment method coverage, allowing more users globally to access Discord's services.
- Support the implementation of new fraud mitigation strategies in collaboration with the Safety and Fraud operations teams.
- Ensure the reliability and stability of the payment systems, making them robust against various challenges.
What We Look For
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably with a focus on backend development.
- Experience with payment systems and familiarity with payment gateways like Stripe and Adyen.
