OpenTable is seeking a passionate and skilled Senior Web Engineer to join our growing EU engineering team. This role is perfect for a product-aware engineer who is enthusiastic about creating phenomenal UI and UX experiences. You will be part of the newly formed AdTech team, working closely with our data and marketing teams to enhance our understanding of diners and improve restaurant experiences globally.

Key Responsibilities

Build New Features: Develop new features that help diners discover restaurants, driving product growth and impacting business revenue directly.
Technical Ownership: Scale applications and take ownership of technical improvements and roadmaps.
User Interface Design: Craft sophisticated and practical user interfaces for discovering restaurants on a global stage.
Collaboration: Work in a small product squad alongside iOS and Android Engineers, Product Designers, Product Managers, QA Testers, and Data Scientists.
Continuous Improvement: Improve yourself and the team by learning new skills and sharing your knowledge with others.
Data-Driven Development: Use data insights and leverage A/B tests to validate products, allowing for quick testing and iteration.

Full-Stack Experience: Comfortable working with both front-end and back-end systems, with experience in building and maintaining scalable, modern, and performant full-stack node applications.
Testing and Problem Solving: Values testing as a way to ensure a great user experience and possesses excellent problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Proficient in written and spoken English.

Interview Process

Initial Phone Call: 45 minutes with the hiring manager.
Technical Interview: 1 hour.
System Design Interview: 1 hour.
Final Stage Interview: 1-2 hours with various team members, combining technical and non-technical discussions.

Work Environment

OpenTable teams are independent and use two-week sprints to prioritize and drive work. The team is spread across the UK and India, working remotely for the majority of the time, with occasional meet-ups in the London office.

Compensation

Base Salary: €55,000 - €58,000 annually, depending on experience.
Bonus: Significant yearly bonus of approximately 15% of the annual salary.
Equity: Booking Holdings RSU package worth $21,000 USD annually.
