Care.com is seeking a Staff Ruby on Rails Software Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Salt Lake City, Utah. Key Responsibilities
- Design, Develop, and Deploy: Work on both front-end and back-end features, ensuring seamless integration with third-party services and APIs.
- Legacy System Revamp: Participate in revamping several legacy systems, primarily built in Java/.NET and MySQL.
- Platform Growth: Contribute to the rapid growth of our platform by building new functionalities and enhancing existing ones.
- Automated Test Coverage: Ensure appropriate automated test coverage to maintain efficient uptime and product reliability.
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the engineering team and cross-functional partners to address blockers and report progress.
Qualifications
- Experience: 6+ years in software development, with expertise in Ruby/Rails.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Ruby/Rails, with a willingness to explore other frameworks and technologies such as Go, React.js, and GitHub Actions.
- Communication: Strong ability to communicate clearly and work effectively across engineering, product, and business teams.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Nice to Have: Experience with Heroku/AWS, Stripe, Solr, Minitest/Capybara, Java, and Postgres.
