Trading Operations Engineer - Digital Assets

Flow Traders is seeking a Trading Operations Engineer to join our expanding Digital Assets team in Amsterdam. Responsibilities

As a Trading Operations Engineer, you will:

Gain Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of our latency-sensitive trading application stacks. You will contribute to troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment and implement solutions to enhance system performance.
Monitoring Solutions: Write, test, and integrate monitoring solutions using APIs provided by our proprietary trading applications. This will help provide insights into the health and performance of our trading environment.
Linux Environment: Work closely with system administrators to fine-tune Linux-based trading environments using the latest tools and distributions.
Automation: Participate in efforts to fully automate our infrastructure and application management.
CI/CD Pipelines: Build, use, and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.
User Acceptance Testing: Conduct testing across internal application stacks and gain a comprehensive understanding of how traders and supporting teams utilize our software.
Development Process: Provide technical requirements to the development process to continuously improve the operational effectiveness of our applications.
Scripting Skills: Advance your Python or other scripting skills by working with trading desks to automate complex workflows.

Requirements

Education: University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other quantitative fields.
Experience: 0-4 years of commercial experience.
Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems. Proficiency in Python or C++ is required.
Networking: Basic knowledge and interest in networking is advantageous.
Cryptocurrencies: Experience with cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies is a clear advantage.
Technologies: Familiarity with Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and HDFS is a plus.
Soft Skills: Strong sense of teamwork, willingness to learn new skills, good communication, and problem-solving abilities.
