Join Our Team as a Junior Trading Operations/DevOps Engineer
Flow Traders is seeking a Junior Trading Operations/DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic Trading Operations team in Amsterdam. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a leading proprietary trading firm known for its entrepreneurial and innovative culture.
About the Role
As a member of our Trading Operations Team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the performance and stability of our proprietary trading systems and related hardware. You will be responsible for handling technical issues related to our in-house trading applications, directly impacting the company's performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of our latency-sensitive trading application stacks and contribute to troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.
- Monitoring Solutions: Write, test, and integrate monitoring solutions using APIs from our proprietary trading applications to ensure the health and performance of our trading environment.
- Linux Environments: Collaborate with system administrators to fine-tune Linux-based trading environments using the latest tools.
- Automation: Work on automating our infrastructure and application management.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Build, use, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
- User Acceptance Testing: Conduct testing across internal application stacks and understand how traders and supporting teams utilize our software.
- Development Process: Provide technical requirements to improve the operational effectiveness of our applications.
- Scripting Skills: Enhance your Python or other scripting skills by working with trading desks to automate complex workflows.
What You Need to Succeed
- Education: University degree in Computer Science, Maths, or other quantitative fields.
- Experience: 0-2 years of work experience.
- Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, JavaScript, or C++.
- Networking: Basic knowledge and interest in networking is advantageous.
- Technologies: Familiarity with Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and HDFS is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong teamwork, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
