Overview of the Role
As an Associate Analytics & Model Analyst at Moody's, you will engage in research to critically assess a wide array of advanced corporate risk models and other products for major banks and regulatory authorities globally. You will be part of a truly global team, contributing to diverse projects in every phase, including data analysis, methodology design, model development and enhancement, documentation writing, results delivery, and interpretation.
Responsibilities
- Perform critical assessments of various corporate risk models, scrutinize model adequacy and possible limitations, assess unaccounted risks, and construct challenger models.
- Communicate ongoing model assessment results to key model stakeholders.
- Generate detailed and comprehensive validation reports, review insights with peers in validation, supervisors, and model developers.
- Carry out ad-hoc analyses to meet immediate business requirements.
- Create, enhance/refine, and maintain tools aimed at automating the validation workflows.
- Prepare presentations and participate in knowledge sharing for the company’s internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree or equivalent in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Science.
- Strong foundation in quantitative modelling and econometrics, with risk modelling, validation, or audit experience being an advantage.
- Proficiency in English.
- Proficiency in R (preferred), Python, and/or SQL.
- Experience with collaborative tools like GitHub and handling extensive datasets from different sources and formats.
- Ability to explain complex technical details to non-experts clearly.
- Detail-focused, analytically curious, and skilled in problem-solving.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and social skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in dynamic settings.
- Open to learning, embracing new challenges, and adapting to evolving business requirements.
