Backend Engineering Lead - Fintech Billing
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Engineering Lead to join our fintech billing group. This role is pivotal in overseeing a small family of teams, providing technical, product, and team-level leadership. As an Engineering Lead, you will be hands-on with the code at least 50% of the time, while also focusing on growing successful direct reports and running productive teams.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Participate in technical design and execution to build financial solutions of varying scope and complexity. Architect and build a reliable and secure financial system for stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with finance stakeholders and business system analysts to ensure we are solving problems that scale. Understand how third-party tools integrate with HubSpot's ecosystem.
- Team Management: Coach engineers and team leads to build productive, autonomous, and healthy teams. Focus on setting up teams to grow more autonomous over time.
- Vision and Strategy: Develop a strong technical vision for implementing the product vision. Work with internal and external teams to solve problems effectively.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Create and foster diverse teams and an inclusive culture.

- Continue to grow as a technologist while in the role and drive technical growth.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and feedback for engineers to help them grow and succeed.

Compensation
- Salary Range: €197,700 - €316,300 annually.
- Equity: Eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan with restricted stock units (RSUs).
- Bonuses: Annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan.
