HubSpot is seeking a talented and experienced Technical Lead II for our Backend team. This role is pivotal in driving the growth and success of our Growth Product Group, which focuses on acquisition, onboarding, retention, and monetization across the HubSpot product platform.
About the Role
As a Technical Lead on the Growth Data team, you will:
- Lead a team of engineers: Foster a culture of autonomy and flexibility while guiding your team to success.
- Build data pipelines: Develop and maintain the collection and processing pipeline for HubSpot’s tens of millions of daily usage-data events.
- Create internal tools: Design intuitive tools for HubSpotters to use in experiments, data analysis, and configuration to enhance customer experiences.
- Develop APIs: Engineer low-latency customer-facing experimentation APIs.
- Enable data-driven strategies: Equip HubSpot teams with data-informed strategies for building customer-centric features.
- Write impactful code: Deliver production code that significantly impacts users and business outcomes.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with engineers, PMs, designers, and researchers to envision, build, and analyze new features and tools.
- Implement experiments: Conduct experiments to gain insights into user behavior and improve their experience.
What We Are Looking For
- Leadership experience: Previous experience leading a team, managing engineers, or overseeing projects.
- Backend development expertise: Proficiency in Java, MySQL, AWS, DropWizard, Kafka, and Kubernetes.
- Analytical skills: Ability to dive into data analysis tools like Amplitude, Looker, and Excel.
- User-focused mindset: Strong empathy for user challenges and a passion for improving user experiences.
