Senior Software Engineer - Developer Efficiency

Join Plaid as a Senior Software Engineer on the Developer Efficiency team, where you will be pivotal in optimizing the software development lifecycle, focusing on build, test, and deployment phases. This role is crucial for enhancing the productivity of all engineers at Plaid through our Internal Developer Platform, which includes CI/CD, Build Tools, Self-serve Deployments, Container Registry, Developer Portal, Service Catalog, and Feature Flagging.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Continuous Deployments (CD) work-stream, enabling daily deployments of new changes to production by application engineering teams.
- Discover, prioritize, and execute projects to improve the reliability of Plaid’s product offerings, extending the coverage of testing and canarying mechanisms in CD.
- Enhance the technical rigor of the team through thoughtful code reviews and leadership in technical decision-making.
- Define Service Level Objectives (SLOs), set goals, and plan Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
- Improve the capabilities of our internal developer platform, focusing on operational maturity and automation.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Experience with Kubernetes (k8s) and Continuous Deployment models.
- Previous experience as a technical lead within a Platform organization.
- Strong advocacy for technical directions and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in coding, testing, and system design.
- Customer-focused approach, catering to the needs of internal engineers.
