AWS Applications and Higher Level Abstractions (Apps) is seeking talented engineers to build horizontal and industry vertical applications for business users, leveraging AWS's on-demand scalability, reliability, and machine learning expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Development: As a founding engineer on a new team, you will help design the overall architecture and own large chunks of design and development work for various components. You will establish technology processes and practices that will lay the groundwork for the organization as it grows.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with other engineering teams aligned towards the same goal, with many opportunities for cross-team influence, architecture, and collaboration.
• Product Development: Build a customer-facing product from the ground up and deliver it to market quickly. You will work closely with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to define the end product and customer experience and then implement it with best-of-breed web technologies and AWS services.
• Technical Leadership: Be a key contributor in setting the team's technical direction, best practices, and plan for the years ahead.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience building scalable, distributed, front-end experiences.
• Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in agile software development methodology.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
