About The Role
Swift, the world’s leading provider of secure financial messaging services, is seeking a Head of Data Science - AI to lead the development of AI models that address complex business challenges and drive innovation. This role is based in Brussels, Belgium, and offers a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Mentor: Guide a global team of data scientists, fostering collaboration and innovation while setting clear objectives.
- AI Solution Development: Oversee the end-to-end development of AI and machine learning solutions, ensuring alignment with product roadmaps and business use cases.
- Business Problem Translation: Convert complex business problems into structured data science plans that contribute to impactful business cases.
- Technical Excellence: Promote the use of standard methodologies in data science, model validation, and explainability, with a focus on accuracy and performance.
- Responsible AI Practices: Ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability in all AI projects, upholding privacy and data protection standards.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with various teams to align AI initiatives with business goals and communicate technical concepts in actionable terms.
- Research and Innovation: Continuously explore and implement new AI and machine learning techniques to maintain Swift’s leadership in AI innovation.
- Project Management: Lead project scope, timelines, and prioritization to ensure successful delivery of AI projects.
Required Qualifications
- 5-10 years of experience in developing and delivering AI solutions.
- Deep understanding of the AI development lifecycle, including data analysis, preparation, modeling, and deployment.
- Expertise in machine learning and deep learning techniques, with a focus on model explainability.
- Proven track record in integrating responsible AI principles and privacy measures.
- Strong experience in translating business problems into data science projects.
- Leadership experience in managing global data science teams.
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical findings into business insights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Certifications in machine learning, data science, or AI.
- Experience in the financial services industry.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving technological landscape.
