Overview

Join our dynamic and innovative Data Lab team at Belfius, where you will leverage machine learning (ML) to create data-driven products and address critical business challenges. As an AI Engineer, you will work on transversal projects within a young and dynamic team, collaborating with the ML-engineering team to deliver end-to-end ML projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance predictive models using statistical techniques and machine learning.
• Analyze and interpret business hypotheses, utilizing datasets to provide insights.
• Recommend business ideas based on data and results through visualizations and predictive algorithms.
• Educate users on data science principles and explain model behaviors and corrective actions when necessary.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in a scientific field with excellent academic results in technical areas such as econometrics, computer science, or artificial intelligence.
• Expertise in machine learning techniques, with a deep understanding of algorithms like Random Forests, Neural Networks, and reinforcement learning.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Proficiency in Dutch or French, with a passive understanding of the other language, and English.
• Experience in explaining complex analyses to non-technical audiences using storytelling and data visualization skills.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, creativity, and perseverance in understanding and solving problems.

Preferred Skills

• Bilingual in Dutch/French.
• Experience in building data products from design to production.
• Previous experience with Natural Language Processing.
• Knowledge of Spark and visualization libraries/tools like Plotly/Dash.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, preferably Azure.
