Job Description
Join Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Logistics Specialist in our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). This role is crucial in supporting AWS's global infrastructure by ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers. As a Logistics Specialist, you will be part of a diverse team responsible for maintaining inventory, managing supply chains, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Management: Enter data and resolve queries from peer organizations. Ensure all billing related to the inventory supply chain is accurate and ready for processing.
- Shipping and Receiving: Assemble, address, stamp, and arrange for the shipment of merchandise and materials. Assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups.
- Inventory Management: Keep precise records of all commodities going in and out of the company. Work with the Logistics Manager to optimize the flow of parts through their lifecycle.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Data Center Operations Technicians and Engineers to fulfill parts quickly and accurately. Interface with vendors to process RMAs and receive replacements.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
- Work in environments that operate 24/7, including cramped, elevated, or noisy spaces.
- Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing, and walking for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
Qualifications
Basic
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Willingness to participate in shift rotations to support 24/7 data center operations.
Preferred
- Knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
- STEM classes or vocational course curriculum education.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
