Octopus Energy is on a mission to make renewable energy accessible to everyone. As a Senior Backend Developer in our Milan office, you will be part of a dynamic team driving the global energy revolution with clean, affordable energy and exceptional customer service.
What You'll Do
- Work on server-side development mainly using Python and Django.
- Employ AWS and utilize tools like Terraform and Packer as part of a continuous deployment pipeline.
- Tackle complex design challenges in the UK energy market, which is complicated, outdated, and process-heavy.
- Solve difficult technical problems, such as processing millions of meter readings daily and integrating data into a machine learning pipeline.
- Contribute to the development of client-side applications using React and Redux.
About You
- Passionate about technology, problem-solving, and the energy transition.
- Proficient in high-level languages, particularly English and Italian.
- Curious, self-driven, and fast-learning.
- Experience in the energy industry is a plus, but not required.
Our Technology
- Server-side development is centered around Python, with Django powering most of our websites.
- Extensive use of AWS, employing tools like Terraform for infrastructure management.
- Client-side development includes React and Redux, with mobile apps built using React Native.
