Position Overview
Located in Paris, France, CarCutter, a division of Meero, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Backend Engineer Manager to lead our backend team. This critical role involves overseeing all backend operations and contributing hands-on to coding and system design. You will leverage your expertise to foster innovation and excellence within the team, maintaining our position as the number one visual AI editing and optimization solution in the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead a team of 3-5 Backend developers, ensuring effective onboarding, continuous training, and performance management. Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Hands-On Technical Leadership: Engage directly in coding and problem-solving, embodying a "lead by example" approach to uphold high standards and foster innovation within the team.
- Code Quality: Promote and ensure the production of clean, efficient, and well-tested code. Mentor team members in adhering to best coding practices.
- Backend Architecture: Drive the enhancement of our backend architecture to ensure scalability, efficiency, and innovation.
- Ownership and Management: Take ownership of critical backend components such as APIs, processing pipelines, and feature development. Ensure the integrity and reliability of these components.
- CI/CD Pipeline: Maintain and optimize the CI/CD pipeline for seamless integration, testing, and deployment of code.
- Feature Planning: Lead the architectural design and planning of new features in alignment with product goals and customer needs.
- Technical Debt and AWS Management: Address technical debt proactively and manage AWS services to ensure our infrastructure supports our operational and growth requirements efficiently.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in backend engineering and 2+ years in management.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Skills: Senior in Python, software architecture, and good familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS).
- Attributes: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and strong English communication skills.
