About the Role
Infinic is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of our cutting-edge payment platform and merchant-facing portal. This role is pivotal in driving feature development and platform improvements, working closely with a small team of developers. As the most senior software engineer in a team of 3-5 developers, you will provide practical guidance on software development methodologies, architecture, testing, infrastructure, and monitoring. You will also play a key role in hiring and mentoring junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Development: Lead the development of new features and improvements to the payment platform.
- Mentoring and Guidance: Provide hands-on mentoring and guidance to junior engineers.
- Platform Maintenance and Operations: Ensure the platform is maintained and operates efficiently.
- Technical Architecture: Design and implement robust technical solutions.
- Customer Support: Act as the technical face towards customers and prospects, supporting customer integrations.
- Platform Monitoring: Implement and manage monitoring solutions to ensure platform reliability.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an entrepreneurial and pragmatic lead engineer who thrives in dynamic environments and is eager to be part of a small, agile team. You should have a strong understanding of the unique needs of an early-stage startup and be able to adapt your approach accordingly. A passion for payments and improving the payment experience in Africa is essential.
Required Experience
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 1 year in payments and/or fintech.
- Hands-on product building experience, having defined, built, and shipped products end-to-end.
- Experience in startup environments or similar team setups in larger organizations.
- Proven experience in building technical platforms and mentoring software engineers.
Technical Skills
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in Vue.js and Python.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
- Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with Terraform.
- Databases: Strong skills in database administration.
- CI/CD: Experience with continuous integration and delivery.
- Test Automation: Ability to implement and manage automated testing solutions.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Amsterdam, with a hybrid work model that includes partial in-office presence at Infinic’s Amstelveen office. Some travel to Africa for conferences and partner meetings may be required, but it is not mandatory.
