Datadog is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our Compliance Engineering team. This role is part of our Information Security Organization, which is dedicated to providing continuous assurance of our control environment, thereby building customer trust. As a Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in building a continuous monitoring platform to proactively monitor Datadog’s security controls, identify and mitigate control deviations, and provide greater assurance to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Design and Implement Solutions: Develop highly scalable, fault-tolerant KPI and Evidence Management platforms.
- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with stakeholders and users to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend technologies and frameworks to achieve optimal system performance and reliability.
- Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough testing and debugging of your code to ensure accuracy, reliability, and optimal performance.
- Security and Compliance Advocacy: Raise security and compliance awareness within Datadog and advocate best practices across other engineering teams.
- Audit Support: Support ad-hoc audit requests for evidence and convert them into automated continuous monitoring solutions.
Who You Are
- Experienced in Distributed Systems: You have a passion and demonstrated experience in designing, building, and managing distributed systems, microservices architecture, and RESTful APIs.
- Problem Solver: Strong problem-solving abilities and a meticulous approach to architectural design and implementation.
- Cloud and Containerization: Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies.
- Programming Proficiency: Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, etc.
- Mentor and Collaborator: Enjoy mentoring other engineers and collaborating with stakeholders and customers.
- Detail-Oriented: Value code simplicity, performance, and details.
- Team Player: An accountable team player who likes to get things done.
- Educational Background: BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific field or equivalent experience.
