Hertz is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Team Lead to join our dynamic team in Dublin, Ireland. About the Role
As a Software Engineering Team Lead, you will play a pivotal role in modernizing Hertz’s tech stack and delivering innovative products. You will lead a small, agile team with a startup feel, focusing on integrating initiatives for the OneFleet project. This role requires a hands-on approach, with approximately 70% of your time dedicated to coding.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily stand-up meetings and participate in scrum meetings, including planning sessions and retrospectives.
- Mentor and support engineering team members, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to complete their tasks.
- Collaborate with the Product Manager to prioritize sprints and develop technical architecture designs for new features.
- Perform code reviews and lead the development of new features.
- Work closely with other Team Leaders to align on engineering best practices and product deliveries.
- Engage with the Sr Director of Software Engineering on innovative projects using cutting-edge technology.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience leading software engineering teams, ideally in a scrum environment.
- Strong coding skills in Java, TypeScript, or Python.
- Experience with AWS, including AWS Lambda, CloudFormation, and CDK.
- Familiarity with cloud architectural patterns and automation tools such as Docker and Jenkins.
- Experience with source control systems, particularly Git and GitHub Enterprise.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and time management.
- A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- AWS certifications are a plus.
