Join Datadog as an Engineering Manager I - Agent Onboarding
About the Role
Datadog is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the newly formed Agent Onboarding team. This team is responsible for enhancing the user experience of the Datadog Agent, which is the first point of contact for our customers. The team will manage all agent installation methods across various environments, including on-premise and managed cloud solutions. As the manager, you will work closely with a Product Manager to define the team's roadmap and have the autonomy to drive the team's growth and specialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a Team of Engineers: Guide your team in developing new and existing installation methods for the Datadog Agent.
- Mentor and Develop: Support the career development of engineers within your team.
- Own the Stack: Manage the entire scope from frontend installation pages to backend integrations.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with all product teams at Datadog that utilize the Agent for data collection.
- Utilize Various Technologies: Engage with technologies such as Kubernetes Operators, Helm charts, Ansible, Chef, and more.
- Contribute to Open Source: Work primarily in open source environments.
Who You Are
- An engineering manager or tech lead with at least 1 year of experience.
- 3+ years of experience in software development using Go, Python, or Java.
- Familiar with shipped software and tools like Helm, Kubernetes Operator, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Passionate about user experience.
- Bonus: Experience with open source projects and frontend development.
