Job Overview
Datadog is seeking an Engineering Manager I to lead our Application Security Libraries team. This role involves overseeing the development and integration of security monitoring features in our open-source security libraries, which are crucial components of our application security products. You will manage a team of engineers and work closely with them to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee one or more of our open-source security libraries in Ruby, Python, or Go.
- Manage a team of 3+ engineers, providing guidance and support.
- Spend 50% of your time on hands-on development in Ruby, Python, or Go.
- Manage project delivery and contribute to library development.
- Integrate new security monitoring features into our libraries.
- Assist customers in setting up and using our products effectively.
- Develop automated solutions to meet customer needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a software engineer with leadership experience as a tech lead or people manager.
- Proficiency in software development using Go, Python, or Ruby.
- Understanding of different programming language constraints.
- Accountable, proactive, and pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Track record of delivering high-quality software products on schedule.
- Experience with agent or client libraries and open-source project development is a plus.
