Join Datadog as an Engineering Manager I for RUM Mobile SDK
Datadog’s Real User Monitoring (RUM) provides customers with end-to-end visibility into real-time user activity and experience on both web and mobile platforms. As an Engineering Manager on the Mobile SDKs team, you will lead the development of cutting-edge SDKs for Android, iOS, React Native, Flutter, and Unity. This role is crucial in identifying performance bottlenecks and improving web optimization, impacting millions of users across major organizations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and Grow Teams: Lead and develop the Mobile SDK teams, managing 6-8 engineers across 2-3 domains.
- Define Technical Roadmap: Align technical goals with product objectives and collaborate with frontend and backend teams.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with partner teams such as Application Performance Monitoring, Product Analytics, and Error Tracking to enhance the client-side experience of Datadog.
- Team Culture: Foster a strong team culture aligned with engineering standards and customer focus.
- Hands-on Involvement: Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and some coding activities.
Who You Are
- A software engineer at heart with experience leading software engineering teams, either as a tech lead or people manager.
- An excellent leader with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Skilled in building collaborative relationships and managing dependencies with partner teams.
- Detail-oriented with a track record of delivering high-quality software products on schedule.
- Proficient in Java/Kotlin, Objective-C/Swift, or multi-platform frameworks targeting mobile (Unity, Flutter, React Native).
- Experienced in building packages or tooling for developers to use in production.
