Freelance Fullstack Java Developer for Insurance Projects

Job Overview

We are seeking up to 7 experienced Fullstack Java Developers for freelance projects in the insurance industry. This role is primarily remote, with a requirement for candidates to be based in Germany and have social security coverage. The project is set to start immediately and will run until December 31, 2025, with the possibility of extension. The working language is German, and candidates must be fluent.

Key Responsibilities

Team 1 Responsibilities

• Backlog & Requirements:

  • Create and prioritize user stories and sprint backlogs.
  • Optimize the Definition of Ready (DoR).
  • Set sprint goals and implement business requirements.

• Technical Implementation:

  • Develop IT solutions considering design and quality guidelines.
  • Independently implement and code solutions.
  • Use standardized development and testing tools.

• Testing & Quality Assurance:

  • Create and execute automated tests (regression, load, performance, security).
  • Optimize test automation.

• Deployment & Production:

  • Deploy software in production or staging environments.
  • Configure and set up environments.

• Error Resolution & Monitoring:

  • Analyze and fix code errors.
  • Monitor and manage software incidents in production.

• Documentation & Improvement:

  • Create operational and user manuals, training materials.
  • Refactor and improve code and processes.

Team 2 Responsibilities

• Backlog & Requirements:

  • Create and prioritize sprint backlogs and user stories.
  • Optimize DoR and set sprint goals.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner on business requirements.

• Technical Implementation:

  • Develop IT solutions considering design, quality guidelines, and standards.
  • Independently implement requirements (coding, function implementation).
  • Use standardized development and testing tools.

• Testing & Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct automated tests (unit, regression, load, performance, security).
  • Analyze and fix errors during development and testing.
  • Increase test automation.

• Deployment & Operations:

  • Deploy software in production or staging.
  • Conduct deployments, introduction, and stabilization phases.
  • Configure environments and infrastructure.

• Documentation & Knowledge Transfer:

  • Document results and create manuals and training materials.
  • Transfer knowledge and onboard internal staff.

• Continuous Improvement:

  • Refactor and optimize code.
  • Propose improvements for software and processes.
  • Monitor and manage software incidents in production.

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in Java software development and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in Angular frontend development.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes orchestration and Docker containerization.
• Familiarity with the ELK Stack and Rancher.
• Experience in the insurance or financial industry is highly advantageous.
• Desirable experience with OpenStack, Grafana monitoring, and Dynatrace.
