Position Overview
As a Backend Engineer in the Transactional Experience domain at Vinted, you will be part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for ensuring a seamless transactional experience for our members. You will work alongside mobile and web engineers to implement business logic and write APIs. Your role will involve handling large-scale projects and contributing to one of the world's largest Ruby on Rails codebases.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain APIs and backend services.
- Write elegant, maintainable code for a high-traffic platform.
- Collaborate with team members through GitHub pull requests and code reviews.
- Write and maintain unit tests using RSpec.
- Break down large monoliths into manageable components.
- Monitor deployed code using tools like Kibana and Grafana.
- Own and manage SLIs/SLOs within the product team.
Skills and Experience
- Proficiency in backend web development and databases.
- Experience with software development best practices, including Agile and Lean principles.
- Familiarity with systems architecture and distributed systems.
- Ability to engage in constructive conflict, maintaining professionalism and respect.
