Senior Backend Engineer, Payments (AML/KYC)

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Payments domain team at Vinted. This role is crucial in ensuring secure and efficient transactions, enhancing user experience, and driving successful transactions through a reliable platform with advanced fraud prevention and tailored payment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Drive impactful, high-visibility projects in collaboration with engineers, designers, product managers, and data scientists from inception to completion.
Work with technologies such as Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Memcached, Elasticsearch, and more. While prior experience with these technologies is not required, a willingness to learn is essential.
Take charge of tech initiatives within the newly developed Vinted Pay product, advocating for best practices and influencing technical direction.
Collaborate with fellow developers through GitHub pull requests and code reviews, ensuring high standards and continuous improvement.
Use tools like Kibana, Grafana, and DataDog to monitor deployed code and ensure optimal performance.
Take ownership of Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) within the product team, ensuring reliability and performance.
Partner effectively across teams to prioritize tasks and deliver impactful results.
Offer direct and constructive feedback within the team and larger functions.
Actively seek feedback from peers to foster personal and team growth.

About You

Extensive experience in backend engineering, with a strong focus on designing scalable and reliable systems.
Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana and Kibana.
Familiarity with relational and in-memory databases, including MySQL and Redis.
A drive to elevate the status quo, championing ideas and driving meaningful change within the team.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams across different domains.

Salary

The salary range for this position is €59,700 - €80,700 per year.
