About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Payments domain team at Vinted. This role is crucial in ensuring secure and efficient transactions, enhancing user experience, and driving successful transactions through a reliable platform with advanced fraud prevention and tailored payment solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive impactful, high-visibility projects in collaboration with engineers, designers, product managers, and data scientists from inception to completion.
- Work with technologies such as Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Memcached, Elasticsearch, and more. While prior experience with these technologies is not required, a willingness to learn is essential.
- Take charge of tech initiatives within the newly developed Vinted Pay product, advocating for best practices and influencing technical direction.
- Collaborate with fellow developers through GitHub pull requests and code reviews, ensuring high standards and continuous improvement.
- Use tools like Kibana, Grafana, and DataDog to monitor deployed code and ensure optimal performance.
- Take ownership of Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) within the product team, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Partner effectively across teams to prioritize tasks and deliver impactful results.
- Offer direct and constructive feedback within the team and larger functions.
- Actively seek feedback from peers to foster personal and team growth.
About You
- Extensive experience in backend engineering, with a strong focus on designing scalable and reliable systems.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana and Kibana.
- Familiarity with relational and in-memory databases, including MySQL and Redis.
- A drive to elevate the status quo, championing ideas and driving meaningful change within the team.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams across different domains.

Salary
The salary range for this position is €59,700 - €80,700 per year.
