Overview
Trading 212 is seeking a Principal Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team in Sofia, Bulgaria. As a key member of our engineering department, you will lead the technical development of an entire business domain, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and resilient software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical development and architectural design of backend systems.
- Engage in the entire software development life cycle from requirements gathering to deployment.
- Mentor and coach a team of software engineers, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Develop high-performance, scalable solutions using a variety of programming languages and technologies.
- Ensure system resilience and handle downtime, latency, and data loss with a proactive approach.
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in leading the development of client-facing products in a high-demand environment.
- Expertise in microservices architecture and backend web development.
- Proficient in multiple programming languages and familiar with RDBMS, messaging brokers, and in-memory data storages.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take a holistic approach to technology solutions.
