Role Overview

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a large-scale cloud infrastructure using AWS services. You’ll collaborate with development teams to ensure our infrastructure aligns with business requirements, automate processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and develop robust CI/CD pipelines. You will play a key role in monitoring system performance, optimizing resources, and maintaining security and resilience across multiple environments. Your focus will also include managing disaster recovery strategies and handling cloud network management to ensure reliability and scalability.

Your Mission

• Implement and Manage Cloud Infrastructure: Design, develop, and manage a large-scale microservices infrastructure using AWS services, such as EC2, ECS, and Lambda, ensuring high availability and scalability.
• Configuration Management: Configure and oversee a variety of Linux VMs and Containers, ensuring they meet performance, security, and scalability standards.
• Multi-account Management: Manage complex multi-account and multi-domain AWS environments, ensuring streamlined operations and security across all accounts.
• Collaborate with Development Teams: Work closely with the development and product teams to align the cloud infrastructure with business and technical requirements.
• Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Use Terraform or similar tools to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources, implementing best practices in IaC.
• Develop CI/CD Pipelines: Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline, enabling continuous integration and deployment across environments.
• System Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure using tools such as AWS CloudWatch and the ELK stack, ensuring high performance and availability.
• Disaster Recovery Strategy: Design and implement a multi-region disaster recovery strategy with clearly defined RTO and RPO objectives, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss in case of failures.
• Automation Development: Build automation scripts and tools to support infrastructure provisioning and integration tasks within self-service portal environments, improving operational efficiency.
• Risk Analysis and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential issues in the infrastructure and implement proactive strategies to enhance security, compliance, and resilience.
• Manage Data Flows and Events: Oversee data flow management using AWS services like Kinesis, SNS, SQS, DMS, and Redshift, ensuring efficient and reliable data operations.
• Network Management: Design and manage the network infrastructure within AWS, including VPCs, Route 53, and VPNs, ensuring secure and optimized connectivity.

Your Ideal Profile

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure management, with a strong focus on AWS services and tools.
• AWS Expertise: Extensive knowledge of AWS cloud services such as EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, and CloudFormation, with practical experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• DevOps Best Practices: Deep understanding of DevOps methodologies, including CI/CD, automation, and system monitoring, to drive continuous improvement.
• Scripting Proficiency: Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate tasks and interact with cloud APIs.
• Networking Knowledge: Solid grasp of networking principles, particularly in AWS environments, including VPC, subnets, security groups, and routing.
• Linux Administration: Advanced skills in Linux system administration, including configuring and maintaining VMs and containers.
• CI/CD Tools: Proficient in using CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline for continuous integration and deployment.
• Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging tools such as AWS CloudWatch, ELK stack, or Prometheus.
• Data Architecture: Knowledge of data flows, event-driven architecture, and managing data pipelines on AWS.
• Availability: Willingness to handle on-call duties and manage incidents outside regular working hours.
