Role Overview
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at DPG Media, you will be at the forefront of implementing machine learning models within the realm of digital advertising. You will be part of the Advertising Data BENE team, which is responsible for advertising data, AI/MLE solutions, and generative AI within digital advertising. This role involves daily interactions with Product & Innovation teams, Developers, and your team members.
Responsibilities
- Strengthen our scrum team consisting of a Product Owner, Scrum Master, and 8 developers.
- Participate in standups, refinements, retrospectives, and demos (bi-weekly).
- Embrace a 'you build it, you run it' mentality, covering development, DevOps, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD.
- Analyze requirements, experiment with different models, justify your choices with quality parameters, implement, and present results to the dev and business team.
- Contribute to our underlying data stack and data pipelines using Python, PySpark, Elasticsearch, Terraform, and Airflow.
- Collaborate with Data & ML engineers to expand our ML Ops platform.
- Integrate our services with other DPG teams utilizing our data services.
- Take ownership and accountability for specific models, jobs, and applications.

Ideal Candidate
- Solid software engineer with several years of experience as an ML Engineer.
- At least 1 year of experience with AWS Stack, Python, (Py)Spark, Terraform, and Airflow.
- Hands-on experience with ML Ops & ML frameworks (e.g., SKlearn) for training, monitoring, deploying features & models.
- Experience with Java & Spring is a plus.
- Thorough yet pragmatic, with an eye for quality & testing.
- Comfortable navigating a complex business domain with many stakeholders to understand requirements and tackle complex problems.
- Depending on your location, work in Amsterdam Zuid-Oost (NL) or Vilvoorde (BE). Travel across borders once a month for team meetings.
- Proficiency in Dutch is a must.
