Senior Platform Engineer - Developer Tooling

At Personio, we are on a hypergrowth journey towards becoming the leading HR Platform in Europe! We are seeking experienced Software Engineers to join our Product & Technology department. As a Senior Platform Engineer focusing on Developer Tooling, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our engineering culture and the future of numerous HR teams and organizations across Europe.
Key Areas of Focus
Within our engineering platform, we concentrate on three primary areas:
- Developer Experience (DX)
- Infrastructure Engineering (IE)
- Platform Tooling (PT)
In the PT area, your role will involve building solutions that enable other engineers to increase their development velocity, improve their application observability, and deploy and release their software more efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Research, engineer, and experiment with new ways to improve developer velocity, observability, or CI/CD infrastructure.
- Foster relationships and partner with both DX and product teams to identify pain points and provide impactful solutions in an iterative manner.
- Act as a technical leader, mentoring and coaching other engineers, and help improve the team’s engineering culture.
- Design, build, document, and distribute robust and delightful solutions in the form of services, CLI tools, scripts, and plugins for developers.
What You Need to Succeed
- Over 3 years of software engineering experience in building and designing scalable applications, tools, or distributed systems.
- Strong platform engineering/DevOps expertise with knowledge of Kotlin, TypeScript, Gitlab, BackStage, DataDog, AWS, CDK, Projen.
- Excellent written and spoken English (level C1/C2 on the CEFR scale).
