Join Datadog as a Software Engineer - Distributed Caching
As a Software Engineer on the Distributed Caching team at Datadog, you will play a crucial role in building a new high-throughput, low-latency cache that is integral to Datadog’s infrastructure. This in-memory distributed key-value store will be accessed hundreds of millions of times per second by various internal services, making your work pivotal to the company's operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and Scale Infrastructure: Develop distributed, high-throughput, real-time data infrastructure using Go, Redis, gRPC, Envoy, and other open-source components.
- Technical Expertise: Dive into low-level technical details when necessary, such as kernel and profiling, to ensure optimal performance.
- Ownership and On-call Duties: Take ownership of significant parts of our service and participate in on-call rotations to maintain service reliability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams that utilize our cache, contributing to a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Who You Are
- Educational Background: You hold a BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or have equivalent experience.
- Programming Skills: You have significant backend programming experience in one or more languages, with a focus on low-latency performance and clean code.
- Problem Solver: You are detail-oriented, valuing correctness and efficiency, and leave no stone unturned when diagnosing production issues.
