Software Engineer

Details of the Role and How It Fits into the Team

As a Software Engineer at Deutsche Bank, you will be responsible for designing and developing application code, implementing technical solutions, and configuring applications to meet business needs. You will actively participate in the technical design and architecture of applications or their components, propose appropriate solutions, and promote the reusability of existing components. This role requires working in a collaborative environment.

You should have a deep understanding of the systems and applications under your control, manage changes, and collaborate in the technical analysis, implementation, and testing of approved projects. You will also participate in application maintenance tasks.

The role involves working on applications based on midrange technology (Java / Angular or other JavaScript frameworks) and/or in Cloud technology (Google Cloud Platform).

Your Key Responsibilities

• Technical design, programming, and testing of new projects, enhancements, and maintenance of a set of applications.
• Ensure IT Application Life Cycle standards are met in ongoing enhancements and maintenance.
• Align application changes with the application strategy and technology roadmap.
• Identify and manage risks and issues associated with the application.
• Ensure maximum operational availability and stability.
• Focus on cost efficiency.

Your Skills and Experiences

• Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Knowledge and experience in systems and end-to-end processes.
• Experience in Java / Angular analysis and programming is essential.
• Ability to understand key aspects of technical platforms and infrastructure, generate ideas, and create effective solutions.
• Solid knowledge of software engineering, design patterns, and software architecture.
• Development background and demonstrated experience as an analyst.
• Experience in analyzing existing systems from high-level architecture to application code review.
• Experience with technical documentation, architectural diagrams, components, flows, and use cases.
• Demonstrable DevOps-oriented mindset.
• Experience with testing/QA tools.
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to understand complex business processes and workflows.
• Teamwork capacity with multidisciplinary teams.
• Leadership and communication skills.
• High commitment and results-focused.
• Ability to identify risks, resolve conflicts, and plan tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of methodologies in applications development (e.g., Agile).
