Location
This role is based in San Francisco, CA, and requires working 2 days per week from our San Francisco HQ. It is not eligible for full-time remote work.
Compensation
The salary range for this position varies based on experience level:
- IC2: $135,000 - $150,000
- IC3: $171,000 - $190,000
- IC4: $198,000 - $220,000
In addition to the base salary, equity and benefits are offered.

Role Overview
As a Software Engineer at Gem, you will work closely with product managers and designers to influence product direction and business outcomes. You will be responsible for owning product features end-to-end and collaborating with engineers across the company.

- Work primarily with Typescript, React, Python, GraphQL, Node, and PostgreSQL.
- Stay close to our customers and collaborate with engineers on your team and across Gem.

About You
- You have 1–8 years of industry experience as a software engineer, building user-facing products.
- You move with velocity and invest in improving your craft.
- You are good at driving solutions by communicating and working cross-functionally.
- You are energized by collaborating in-office with your peers.
