Lead Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer, Trust & Safety
VintedRole Overview
As a Lead Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer at Vinted, you will be a pivotal member of the Trust Domain's Detection team. Your primary mission will be to protect the Vinted community from harmful activities and content. This involves leveraging your expertise in machine learning to research, design, implement, and maintain detection models that are not only accurate but also efficient and scalable.
Responsibilities
- Drive the machine learning strategy and set the long-term vision for its role in Trust, ensuring our models adapt to evolving threats.
- Research and design diverse machine machine learning models for the detection of harmful content and behavior within the Vinted Marketplace.
- Lead the MLOps strategy to ensure models are efficient, scalable, and have strong performance and latency metrics.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists, promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
- Collaborate with the Data Infrastructure team to build and maintain data pipelines, tools, and infrastructure necessary for efficient model training, monitoring, deployment, and iterative improvement.
About You
- Proven track record in data science with at least 5 years of experience.
- Proficiency in both natural language (NLP) and computer vision machine learning models.
- Deep understanding of model deployment, maintenance, monitoring, and scalability challenges for real-time ML models running in production.
- Strong mentoring and leadership skills.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field is preferred.
