Senior Decision Scientist / Data Analyst, Trust & Safety

Role Overview

Join Vinted as a Senior Decision Scientist / Data Analyst in our Trust & Safety department, where you will play a pivotal role in protecting our community from harmful activities such as phishing, fraud, and counterfeiting. This position is crucial for leveraging analytical skills to drive data-backed decision-making and discovering effective solutions against safety issues.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with your team and direct stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities and answer key business questions.
• Ensure these questions are answered optimally, whether through ad hoc deep-dives, experiments, or dashboards.
• Analyze identified opportunities to understand their scope and impact.
• Own the key performance indicators for the team, including selection, target-setting, tracking, and proactive issue flagging.
• Enable your team and stakeholders to leverage data for business insights independently through self-serving tools and dashboarding.
• Define requirements for (A/B) testing and analyze the results.
• Help create a backlog with prioritized hypotheses and analyses.

About You

• Extensive working experience as a Decision Scientist, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or a related position.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex topics clearly and persuasively to different audiences.
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong analytical, strategic, and business skills.
• A degree in statistics, physics, econometrics, economics, business, or a similar field.
• Statistical proficiency, including A/B testing and regression analysis.
• Knowledge of at least one statistical programming language (Python, R, etc.).
• Fluency in SQL and experience with dashboarding tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) is an advantage.
• Experience working in a tech company or in a cross-functional product development team is beneficial.

Hybrid Workplace Model

We want people to work from where they’re most comfortable, which is why we’re using a hybrid workplace model at Vinted for the foreseeable future. Hybrid means that we encourage working from the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and the remainder of your time from either home or the office, but it’s not required. You’re welcome to work from either location all or some of the time, depending on what you think is best and safest for you, and how the Covid-19 situation is developing where you are.

Salary

The salary range for this position is € 2,983–5,800 (gross) per month.
