Join the Netherlands Forensic Institute as a Senior Data Architect
Step into the world of data with a purpose at the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI) in The Hague. As a Senior Data Architect, you will play a crucial role in building the right data foundation to support NFI's mission of solving crime-related challenges. Your work will indirectly assist scientists at NFI in making society safer.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Architect, you will:
- Realize the Data & Analytics Architecture: Guide and train business analysts and solution architects from various DevOps teams in developing the different layers of the data definition architecture, including semantic, conceptual, logical, and implementation layers. You will act as a hands-on leader.
- Support Horizontal Data Architecture: Assist the data team with the implementation of the NFI data platform, ensuring that architectural principles are applied and updated based on new insights and developments.
- Develop Data Management Principles: Collaborate with the Chief Data Officer (CDO), data lead, and other data professionals to create effective data management, usage, and protection foundations. The CDO office, similar to the CIO office, operates as a multidisciplinary team.
- Promote a Data-Driven Culture: Encourage a culture where data is seen as a strategic asset, forming the basis for smart decision-making and innovative solutions. Contribute to the theme of Data-Driven Work & AI within the i-Strategy.
- Align with Enterprise Architecture: Ensure that the data architecture aligns with enterprise, application, and infrastructure architecture. Participate in tactical discussions related to information management tasks with a strong data component.
Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Computer Science or a related technical IT field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a data architect.
- Proficiency in conceptual data modeling, preferably fact-based modeling.
- Strong command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.

Additional Requirements
- Experience in guiding the realization of various data-logistical solutions, including data platforms, data warehouses, data lakes, and data fabrics.
- Experience in developing analytical environments for Business Intelligence, dashboarding, AI, and machine learning.
- Knowledge of other modeling methods such as relational, Kimball, data vault, and linked-data is a plus.
- Experience working in an agile environment.
- Experience in a research environment is highly desirable.
