About the Role
Join Headway as a Senior Software Engineer and contribute to building a new mental healthcare system accessible to everyone. This role focuses on backend development using Python and involves significant contributions to our technical architecture and software development practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications using Python, FastAPI, and SQLAlchemy.
- Work with React for front-end functionalities when necessary.
- Manage databases using Postgres and Redis, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Utilize AWS services like Fargate and ECS for deployment and scaling.
- Implement real-time data processing with Spark and Kafka.
- Monitor application performance with tools like Datadog and PagerDuty.
- Maintain high standards of code quality and system security, especially concerning patient data privacy and compliance.
Projects You'll Work On
- Privacy and Compliance: Lead initiatives to enhance the security and compliance of our platforms.
- Insurance and Billing Engine: Develop robust systems to handle over a million appointments monthly.
- Network Expansion: Create tools and systems to support the growth of our provider network across the US.
- Therapist Practice Management: Build comprehensive platforms for therapists to manage their practices efficiently.

- Experienced in backend web development, particularly with Python.
