About the Role
As a Senior DevOps Engineer at AWS Managed Operations, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for maintaining and improving the operational health of AWS software systems. Your role involves a significant amount of problem-solving and system analysis, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our services.
Responsibilities
- System Operations: Monitor and maintain the operational health of AWS services. Identify anomalies, create bug reports, and implement solutions to enhance system performance.
- Script Development: Develop and test scripts to automate operations and improve workflows.
- Change Management: Provide feedback on change management documents and address operational backlogs collaboratively.
- Educational Role: Share insights about the complexities of the European Sovereign Cloud with service teams, enhancing team knowledge and cooperation.
- On-call Duties: Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, troubleshooting and ensuring system resilience.

Location
This position is based in Berlin, Germany. AWS offers relocation support for successful candidates within the European Union.
Qualifications
- Basic: Experience in operating software systems, proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, Ruby), and strong diagnostic skills.
- Preferred: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., CDK, CloudFormation, Puppet, Chef, Ansible), operating services in AWS, and performance tuning of software applications.
