Role Overview
Join Whatnot, the largest livestream shopping platform in the U.S., as a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer on our Community team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and enhancing the social aspects of our platform, fostering meaningful connections between sellers and buyers. This position is crucial for buyer retention and driving Gross Merchandise Volume (GMV).
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain full-stack applications that power our live shows, loyalty programs, chatting, messaging, and user profiles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype, build, and scale new strategic products.
- Utilize your expertise in Python, Elixir, Next.js, and Postgres to create scalable and efficient solutions.
- Engage in problem-solving to develop technical solutions that meet user needs.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering an inclusive and innovative team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4+ years of full-time software engineering experience, preferably in high-growth startups.
- Demonstrated ability to build end-to-end scalable product experiences.
- Strong product instinct and ability to translate user needs into effective technical solutions.
- Proven leadership skills and a low-ego, action-oriented mindset.
