Overview
Join Nextiva, a leader in customer experience software, as a Senior Linux Systems Administrator in our Engineering department. This role is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure that supports our innovative products. You'll be working in a dynamic environment where your skills in Linux system administration, VMware vSphere, and automation will be crucial for our success.
Responsibilities
- System Maintenance: Ensure the availability and reliability of production, staging, and development servers and virtual machines.
- Troubleshooting: Address issues related to Linux OS, services, applications, networking, VMware, storage, and other components.
- Collaboration: Work closely with network engineering, software engineering, SRE/DevOps teams to resolve incidents and outages.
- Security and Compliance: Manage a robust patch and lifecycle management strategy to minimize security vulnerabilities.
- Automation: Write Ansible playbooks to automate common to complex tasks, enhancing efficiency and reliability.
- Proactive Monitoring: Monitor servers and infrastructure to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Documentation: Build, maintain, and promote strong technical documentation to support system stability and team knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in Linux systems administration, including expertise in Red Hat and Debian based systems.
- Strong experience with VMware virtualization platform and vSphere management.
- Proficient in writing automation scripts, particularly with Ansible.
- Good understanding of networking and internet protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Datadog, Solarwinds, Kibana, Filebeat.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Compensation, Rewards & Benefits
- Competitive salary range of $94,000 – $167,000 based on experience and qualifications.
